Providence Reformed Baptist Church is a family of believers in Jesus Christ, saved by God’s free, amazing grace, who want to love and serve those in the greater Walkersville/Frederick area of Maryland.

Our History

Providence Reformed Baptist Church began with a small group of believers holding Baptist and Reformed distinctives, who joined together in November of 2014 to established a Reformed Baptist Church in Frederick County Maryland (located at 40 Main Street, Walkersville Maryland). As a Baptist church, we follow the common Baptist beliefs; as a Reformed church, we also hold to the reformed truths which are rooted in a God of sovereign grace (commonly called the five solas – “Sola Scriptura” (Scripture Alone); “Sola Gratia” (Grace Alone); “Sola Fide” (Faith Alone); “Solus Christus” (Christ Alone); and “Soli Deo Gloria” (To God Alone Be Glory).

Our Distinctives
  • We are an evangelical church that preaches the saving gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ – “And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:1).
  • We are a confessional church – our theological standards are the London Baptist Confession of Faith of 1689 and Catechisms.
  • We are a connected church in that we are linked with other like-minded churches (Association of Reformed Baptist Churches of America, Founders Movement, 9Marks, T4G – Together for the Gospel, etc) in reaching others with the glorious grace and mercy of God which saves and transforms the sinner – “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.” (Ephesians 2:8-9)
